Hey Guys,
I am running mac on Acer 5745G, and recently updated to 10.6.6, post that I am experiencing a very sluggish system, The UI seems to be responding slowly. Following are things I have already tried but didnt help:
- Repair Permissions using pfix and touch /S/L/E folder
- Graphics Kext Update from nvidia's site
- Repair the filesystem by booting from Install USB
I have currently installed 10.6 on a new partition and upgraded to 10.6.4 and I am seeing the old fast system! Any ideas / Suggestions on How to diagnose what might be wrong?
Thanks in advance.

What idea? Check all.
Check drivers are loaded.
Check speedstep works.
Compare ioregs, system profilers.
After 10.6.6 update I noticed heavy HD usage in the first 5-10 minutes after power on, making the system slow overall.
The solution was preventing Spotlight from searching Windows 7 partition
