Hi,
sorry don't know where my topic fits in...
I have a Core i7 quad with 10.6.6 running. Anval ACPI Loader (recent) without GenerateCStates or GeneratePStates. I use fakesmc 3.0 beta and Sleepenabler 10.6.7. The smbios.plist is one for MacPro3,1.
Sometimes after booting and always after wakeup from sleep the system's kernel_task uses permanently 50% of cpu.
I wonder what could cause this? A buggy dsdt or a buggy sleepenabler? If I use GenerateCStates / GeneratePStates, the system will behave much slower.
Can anybody give me a hint please where to investigate?

Why MacPro3,1? Core i7 isn't Penryn.

Ok, do you think another smbios.plist will fix the problem? I could use MacBookPro8,1...
EDIT: No, changing plist to MacBookPro8,1 will change nothing.
The described problem still exists. Anybody has a solution please?

Slice: I tried to build your chameleon branch. It does not build any boot2 file... The chameleon xcodeproject file is missing, I took the one of the trunk. How do I build your project or is there a recent binary build available? Thanks.

Thanks.
Slice, I copied your Chameleon Boot, dynlibs and your macbook1,1 smbios to my bootdrive. It does not load the login window. The boot paused, key commands are still accepted. All normal kexts are loaded, even nvhal50. What about your macbook dsdt? Does your chameleon version require special dsdt methods? Is there a manual for it?

No special.
DSDT.aml must be placed in the root of booting partition.
Or type in command-line something like
dsdt=/Extra/Acpi/dsdt-test.aml
