So let's start off a hopefully useful thread

Does anyone have any favourite apps they love that everyone should know about?
Let's try to limit it to five per person

My favourites:
1. Savage 2 - free multi-platform MMORPG, based on OpenGL, for a free game this thing has amazing graphics!
2. Hotspot shield - encrypted U.S. based VPN for when you're at a hotspot you don't trust (free!)
3. Postbox - thunderbird based email client (free!)
4. Visualhub - best video conversion software ever, hands down
5. VLC - video playing of course (free!)
Looking forward to hearing from you guys
