Krazubu and others,
Sorry about the Lion attempts...looking back(And at the forum string) I see this is for Snow leopard.
I want to use snow leopard as it is the most compatible OS with autodesk smoke and my Quadro 4000 board, however when I attempt to install snow leopard with multiple methods of iBoot, USB boot tries, when I insert my Snow Leopard install CD, it flashes the Apple logo and then reboots. I can assume the video card, but I'm not sure.
Anyway. If I get Snow Leopard up and running, I can try to figure out some of the questions that I've asked you.
Thanks!
Karl

Wrong on both accounts. NVEnabler works fine on Lion, and Snow Leopard is not the most compatible OS - it doesn't support your video card at all.
Or rather - the Snow Leopard Nvidia drivers have no support for Fermi architecture video cards. Therefore you can't use the Quadro 4000 with Snow Leopard until you install the drivers from Nvidia.
Even Mac Pro owners who want to reinstall Snow Leopard must remove the Quadro 4000 and use their former video card during the installation process. This is widely documented, please do your research before playing with fire.
On a Hackintosh, the only way to boot into Snow Leopard with a Fermi card, without the Nvidia Quadro 4000 drivers installed, is with -x (safe mode - prevents video drivers from loading) additionally no injection method (DSDT gfx0 device, GraphicsEnabler, Enabler/Injector.kext) can be active, otherwise it'll halt at a black screen or instantly reboot.
But I don't think you can complete a system installation in safe mode.
On Lion and above there are no such restrictions, the Nvidia drivers that ship with Lion already support Fermi cards.

You are right that I jumped into the fire. Reading a lot, but not all that was and is required. It has been a difficult task. My issue now is, do I continue with Lion or drop back to Snow Leopard. Separate from the build issues, the Quadro 4000 preforms excellently in Snow Leopard and awful in Lion for an application that I intend to use: Autodesk Smoke. I can install Lion, but as you said, it reboots immediately with my Snow Leopard installation.
I do really appreciate that feedback and information. I will try with a non Fermi card.

Hi Krazabu,
i'm trying to fully enable my 9600gt (fx770m) on an hp 8530w.
A few posts ago, you were helping user kossak with a hp8540w and it seems i have a similar problem...
I'm not using NVEnabler.kext - i inject it directly using DSDT.
I have QE/CI and Analog VGA working, but HDMI seems to be detected (long blue screen) - but won't show up as display in system properties.
In IORegistryExplorer i'll see new display popping up when connecting a hdmi display to the notebook, it's always channel A where also the internal display is...
So my first point was it could be the display-cfg parameters in dsdt - but now i'm thinking about limitations in my vbios.
(HDMI + INTERNTAL), (HDMI + DVI), (INTERNAL + VGA) ... etc.
The 8530w has:
Internal Display
HDMI Port
VGA Port
and via docking station an additonal:
DVI
Second VGA
I've included my current DSDT File, and my VBIOS...
if you could mod it the way you did if for kossak in post 560 and tell me the new config values? That would be very nice!
Or if i'm on the wrong way... could you point me the direction?
Thanks & Regards,
Gumman

Hi Gumman,
Your ROM is seriously messed up, here's an attempt to fix it.
Use NVCAP : 05000000000001003e0000000000000a00000000
Display-cfg :
For display 1 : 03010300
and for display 2 :
ffff0101 for DVI
ffff0101 for DVI
ffff0001 for DP
ffff0201 for DVI/HDMI using adapter on DP
ffff0001 for VGA
Don't really know where all those connectors are, but according to your ROM they exist...

Hi
Got the 440 up and running nice now with a dvi monitor, maybe hdmi could work now also? no way to test unfortunately. Using an nibitor 6 v/clk modded gtx480 bios loaded at boot to avoid the fermi panic (other gf100 based bios might work also) + injected gtx device id is dsdt to avoid kext editing/patching loaded via chameleon
Try it fermi users!

Probably not, it's most likely the problem since the beginning, that's why I asked you to try other outputs.

Hi, guys! I need your help.
I have a video card Gainward GTX 580 Phantom 1536 MB.
I can not understand with the work of HDMI.

in 10.8 or 10.7.4+nvidia drivers,If I'm not trying to inject something to videos with bootloaders or DSDT, my card works natively out of box.
In this case, worked DVI (4) and HDMI (3) without any effort.
in dsdt only this:

Sorry I don't understand your problem.
in mac os x Lion (10.7.0 - 10.7.4) with apple kexts for nvidia cards, i need to inject information about my GTX 580 with DSDT or bootloader (clover, xpc, chameleon), but in this case i have only DVI ports without HDMI - this my problem.
But if i installed nvidia drivers for 10.7.3 or 10.7.4 - for my videocard no need injection. And in this case i have a working DVI and HDMI.
I can not understand how I can get working HDMI with DSDT, without nvidia drivers.
in Os X mountain lion i have a working HDMI with apple drivers for nvidia cards.
sorry for my english

You can't, this requires active ROM patching with NVE.

What's wrong with using nVidia drivers ?
Anyway, I can patch your ROM to force HDMI priority over DVI.

the most interesting thing is that I do not need any action (injection and ect) to working HDMI port on my card if I use the drivers from Nvidia in 10.7.3-10.7.4. In this case i have a working HDMI out of box. In 10.8 do not even need nvidia drivers!
If you do not believe me, I am ready to provide any information!
What's wrong with using nVidia drivers ?
1. nothing, but I will depend on the Nvidia drivers in mac os x lion.
2. I do not know how to change the situation with drivers (apple and nvidia) before the release of 10.8.
Anyway, I can patch your ROM to force HDMI priority over DVI.
it would be great!

For your info, capabilities of each port :
DVI-I (1) = DVI and VGA capable
DVI-I (4) = DVI and VGA capable
DP (2) = DP and DVI capable
HDMI (3) = HDMI only
Here is the patched ROM, I removed connector info for the second DVI so the ROM be easier for OSX to interpret.
Gainward_GTX580_GF110__70.10.17.00.01_patched.rom.zip ( 44.89K )
Number of downloads: 10
You gotta use this NVCAP with it :
0500000000000300040000000000000a00000000
Those display-cfg values :
ffff0001 for display 1
ffff0601 for display 2
This should give support of 1 DVI/VGA + HDMI port.
About the rest, the disabled DVI won't work, about the DP, it's all about luck, I didn't take care of it, but maybe it will have survived.

Hey, Krazubu.
Could you help me with right NVCAP and display-cfg's for my ECS GTS250 (DVI+DVI+TV)?
My first screen 22" Samsung SyncMaster monitor connected directly via DVI to port 1.
If I connected my second screen (40" TV) on port 2 via DVI-HDMI connector I see only gray screen and can connect only via ssh.
Thanks in advance.
