First, I'm glad that I found this forum. Just the fact that you have a "New User Discussion" area makes feel a lot more comfortable about posting and asking for help.

I've been lurking, and helping when appropriate (appropriate meaning I've been there done that found a solution that worked for me), around various other OSx86 fora in the last year. I started with 10.5.2 and worked my way up to 10.5.7 when it was released, then took a break as this fulfilled all my needs at that time. In the past few weeks I've upgraded to 10.5.8 and have two partitions with Hazard's 10.6.2 for Intel/AMD (I've got a Pentium D) that I'm trying to get working.

Luckily I also happen to have a trusty MacBookPro with 10.6.3 on hand. The MBP is the primary reason for starting this journey, as it persuaded me to drop Windows completely.

Anyway, enough history, time for details on my current situation.

I've got 10.5.8 installed on my system, the system consisting of:

Intel D945GCZ with Pentium D 820
PNY 9500GT 512MB
2 x eSata drives attached (along with an internal SATA) all AHCI enabled now
3GB RAM
2 x IDE DVD drives fully functional
Stac9220 Audio functional, but not fully exploited (stereo only)
Firewire 400 working, and USB (have had two eSata drives, one USB drive, and a FW400 drive all connected at the same time without any problems at all)
BlueTooth MightyMouse working
Apple Aluminum keyboard working once OSX has been loaded, but non-functional for BIOS changes (old Blueberry iMac keyboard used for that)
Sleep works great, along with any other function I can think of right now.

So, why am I still trying to improve on this setup, you may ask. Well, my TV-out doesn't work unless I boot into WinXP (yes I need it, as this system doubles as a media server). And I would also like to have Snow Leopard running, as this is what I'm comfortable using on my MBP and I'd like to be able not to have to think twice when using each system.

Which is why I've set aside two SL testing partitions, and have almost reached OSx86 nirvana, for me anyway. At one point I could boot into the 10.6.2 GUI, but didn't have a functioning mouse. By the time I found a BT dongle (got rid of my USB mice years ago) that SL recognized, I'd installed SleepEnabler and killed the installation. It took me a while to track down the source of my problems, and now that I have I can't seem to get the 9500GT properly working.

My current 10.6.2 state:

Test partition one:
After loading most of OSX SL, the WindowServer seems to put my display card to sleep (well the monitor goes to sleep, and disk activity continues). I've tried plugging the display into both DVI ports without luck. I'm currently trying DVEnabler, which brought me here.

Test partition two: Same as one, but the screen flashes blue every once in a while and there is a square cursor in the top left of the screen between blue flashes. Also it echoes whatever I type onto the screen...

So here I am, I tried to post on the NVEnabler thread, but didn't have permission ... smile.gif

I started another thread, as I couldn't find this one before, over here and could really use some input since I'm now getting kernel panics.
