Full Version: How Do I Compile Iographicsfamily 10.6.6 Successfully?

Hello,

I am trying to build a working IOGraphicsFamily for 10.6.6... I used this guide over here: fixing iographicsfamily errors

The built version is only 418kb and placed into sys/lib/ext, it produces lots of dependency errors in the boot log. No dependent graphics kext (all) will load then. So the system stays in the boot log.

Can anybody please help with this?

I am trying to find a way for Sony Vaio notebooks for a proper display detection. Maybe iographicsfamily/iodisplaywrangler is the right place for this?

Hi Slice, i followed your fantastic guide and successfully compiled the iographicsfamily kext, i got 67 warnings like you and it worked at the first try wink.gif
Sadly, the kext i compiled is only 440kb instead the >600 of the normal version, and if i use it osX boots in a very unusual way: i still see the gray apple screen with the loading animation, but the rest of the os works correctly and if i press the power button and the enter button after a while the computer power off correctly.
I boot with verbose mode and take a photo of what is happening:

any idea for a fix? Thank you! biggrin.gif

edit: i uploaded the native osx kext and the manually compiled kext, hope it can help! http://localhostr.com/file/rNPC90C/Kexts.rar

The idea is to repair permissions.
