On http://www.everymac.com/ all Apple models current and past are listed.

Unfortunatly there are no exact specifications on what chipssets or chips Apple built into their hardware.

Does anyone know where to find original Apple hardware specs?

This would help to understand where differences between Mac and PC are and maybe hint to solutions.

Apple tries to keep this tightly, but I don't think there is a common resource for the exact chipset details.

You have also

http://support.apple.com/specs/

and

https://developer.apple.com/documentation/H...dware-date.html

the last you will check under the developer notes for the hardware you want to see. Comparing it with common chipset details will give you an idea of which are used.
