Seriously though, there are enough firewire cards and chips out there and PCI, PCIe firewire and firewire/usb/other combo cards..... it would be good to have a dedicated spot for firewire chipset info, what works, what doesn't, what device ID's, etc.....

Most people may not use firewire, but it can be quite useful as a 2nd quick network between two machines, or for drives at non-horrendous USB speed (or firewire800 for nearly Esata speed without worry about Jmicron junk)
