There are quite a few kernels around, patched to run on systems, such as ToH XNU 9.2 but that is a little outdated.
If you find your system cannot boot a Hacked OS X DVD (e.g. iPC) then that could possibly due to the kernel cannot support your system, I've narrowed it down to 2 of (IMO) the most supported kernels.
THE Kernels
1. The AnV XNU Kernel is a very advanced kernel that I would recommend, especially for speed and for Quad Core users, it supports all for cores.
2. The Voodoo XNU Kernel is also an advanced kernel, that SHOULD work on any system, as too the AnV XNU Kernel.
HOW TO Patch your Hacintosh DVD (E.g. iPC, iDeneb ect) with another kernel.
1. Insert your Hacked DVD into the OS you are currently running and make a Disc Image of it.
2. Download either AnV XNU or the Voodoo kernel.
3. Somewhere in the DL, there should be either a package or a folder containing mach_kernel or similar (remember the name), place in the root of the disc image.
4. Burn the disc image again
5. reboot your PC and boot from the new DVD.
6. Press F8 at the prompt and type the kernel name we copied over earlier.
The system should now be booting into OS X from the DVD. If i doesn't, well, your pretty much stuffed.
