I haven't been able to find any for sure descriptions on if this motherboard is going to be good with OS X.

If this isn't, can someone direct me to one that is EFI / Vanilla capable in which you can use boot-132 to install with?

I would prefer to have my price range below $150.

I appreciate your time.

The P5Q series boards are vanilla capable and well documented over at insanelymac.

DSDT patching is required for these boards to work with OSX, there are patched BIOSes available for the whole range - or you can use DSDT.aml. (no longer required).

Unless you flash it with a patched BIOS you cannot use a Boot-132 CD because it doesn't support DSDT.aml loading.

Chameleon 2.0 does though, so a Chameleon 2.0 boot CD will work.

I've heard that some boards in the Gigabyte EP45 family are more compatible, but I don't remember the exact model names.

Thanks for the info. I will get over there to start looking up some more info. I was really hoping for Boot-132 for the ease of setup, but I guess you can't have everything. I think I was looking at the EP45 series a few days ago and they were a little more pricey than I had wanted for my setup.

Thanks again

Chameleon Boot CD and Boot-132 is, generally speaking, the same thing. Chameleon can do so much more though.

Yesterday I install 10.5.4 on Gigabyte EP31-DS3L during 20 minutes.
Chameleon 1.0.11, Vanilla kernel, NVInject, ALC888. All works like native Mac.
I had no more time for the work.
