I just wanted to point out that np_ has post an alternative to netkas' dsmos.kext at hackintosh.org:
http://www.hackint0sh.org/f152/81384.htmHe said it is an alpha release, but that it does work for i386/x86_64 on Snow Leopard A432.
I am going to be working with np_'s UniSMX.kext on BadAxe 2.

After installing fakesmc I found out I don't need OpenHaltRestart anymore. Nice.
/Edit
Well I don't know what happened but I was wrong.
I still need OpenHaltRestart or VoodooPower.kext to get working shutdown.
Netkas posted an updated version yesterday btw.

Neither UniSMC.kext nor FakeSMC.kext seem to immediately work Snow Leopard (10.6) on Bad Axe 2 (975X chipset) with BuildSmart's Ultimate system.
Since netkas' was so kind as to open source FakeSMC.kext, BuildSmart is modifying it to work with his Ultimate system (and perhaps 945/975 chipsets in general). I expect that BuildSmart will be posting his modified version of FakeSMC.kext on his forum (linked above) in the near future. He is working on a 10.5 version first and once that is working, he will proceed to 10.6.
