Hi everyone,

First off thanks a lot for all the great tips here on the forum :-)
I've just stepped into this OSX86 thing, so it's all brand new... (have Linux experience though)

I have a Vaio VGN-FZ11S and have successfully installed iAtkos v7 (Leopard 10.5.7)
After some digging and tweeking I have my Yukon nic running and solved keyboard and mouse (touchpad) not running.

There seem to be some minor problems with VGA, scrolling does not show correctly and moving windows works, but the new place does not properly render the window, so most of stuff and buttons disappear.
Now I'd like to improve my screenresolution.
It's at 1024 x 768 while my screen needs 1280 x 800.

It seems nvEnabler might help, unfortunately I'm not allowed to post in the specific thread (newbee (?))
It also mentions that vaio internal screen is not supported.

My question:
What is the problem with the vaio internal screen?
Is any future change in this situation possible, or is this a dead-end?
If hardware acceleration is not possible for aforementioned problem, is there another way to manually configure the resolution? Any guide?

Thanks a lot!!

Erwin

Partly solved:
Manually configure resolution -
Thanks to this documentationI managed to adapt com.apple.Boot.plist and added
CODE
<key>Graphics Mode</key>
<string>WIDTHxHEIGHTxDEPTH@Hertz"</string>
Force booting using a fixed resolution. Hertz setting is optional. Examples:
    <string>1280x800x32</string>

(adapt to your own res)
After rebooting resolution shines in 1200 x 800!! =-)

If only I could enable hardware acceleration... :-(
What's the problem with Vaio internal screen??

Cheers,

Erwin

I've got the same issue with no internal screen and the powers at be are adamant that nothing can be done as Mac OS X isn't capable of taking to it at this point. Period.

So I now have a brand new notebook, closed sitting under an external monitor acting as though it was a desktop.

I figure that I may just use my BlackBerry even more and just forget about having a notebook for personal use. I am bummed about it, oh well... Starting to warm up to it since my P8600 proc is beating out the current MacBook in geekbench results and hanging with the MacBook Pro nicely for half the price.

On a positive note, it does make for a quite desktop, and I only needed the fakesmc, ps2 and nvenabler kexts along with the very clean Boot Think loader. I am running Bose USB speakers anyway and an Apple keyboard.

The day that I can use my internal display I "may" rethink this, until then I am warming up to it...
