Full Version: Any Hope For Fx570m?

hiqulabs
10.6.1 vanilla retail

NVEnabler is the only injector that automatically identified this
card on my T61p and correctly configures it.

Unfortunately, the system wouldn't boot if NVDAResman.kext is
present. I'd see a screen flicker before the system hangs.

Any hope? I've tried numerous solutions for the past year and
half. Time to give up? I love my T61p particularly the screen
resolution 1920x1200 at 15.4" screen!

thanks

You must have properly inserted your IDs into specific kexts for NVenabler to work.. consult Krazubu's nvidia guide and follow it exactly, then try again with NVenabler. That card is only G84, there's no reason for it not to work.

hiqulabs, as mentioned on my topic, NVS 140 and 570 are not supported. The reason is unknown so far.

Do you need testers? Or is it in development?

What's the news?
Krazubu
We don't need testers for the moment as we don't have a clue about why it's not working.
Mike2732
Hmm, well if you do need testers, I'm always on alert since I am impatiently awaiting a fix =P

Thanks for the response.

I think someone got NVS140 working. I read on other forums.

I even purchased desktop version of 570 from ebay hoping to learn something by getting
it work on the desktop. It works on the desktop with any method (efi, dsdt, nvenabler etc etc)
with stock unmodified kexts. So, I didn't learn a thing from that exercise.

Now, I'm hoping that Chemelon's VBIOS may help? so far, it didn't. I configured it
load 8600m GT ROM. it loads fine but still reads as 570m (device ids etc)
Krazubu
Yes we found one laptop with NVS 140 that just works as any other nVidia, I guess it could happen too with NVS 570. To me it's a BIOS issue, as the hardware is technically identical to their respective geforce equivalents.

Hi Krazubu,FX570m is G84 core as you said,is there any hope to open its QE/CI with following your instructions such as add device ID and VRAM size and NVCAP string, etc

aagdamit
Bumping it up

anyone has any clues about why this problem happens?

i read it in insanelymac that Quadro fx 570 desktop has full QE/CI

i tried adding EFI strings, DSDT, and my device ID to NVENABLER64

snow leopard reconized the video card at its fullest, however QE/CI still is not supported

i think that some bug or tweak is needed to start QE/CI
