Download latest bios.
set harddrives to ahci (dualboot with windows 7 possbile)

: download this iso: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?jbc1wltnmzd

(created from a post here: http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?...eopard+install)

Now boot off it and after chameleon starts (maybe with some ebios errors but that doesn't matter)

change the cd into the retail snow leopard DVD and press F5
now you will see SL boot DVD show up as one of the bootable drives.
hit the down arrow and press space, now you can type in an argument: busratio=20
Boot into it and start your installation.

I definitely advise to do this on an empty harddrive. But my method as you see here doesn't involve the need of an installed leopard.

after about 50 minutes if you select everything except for quicktime 7 you will see install failed. but trust me it did not. It's just that the installer cannot directly boot into snow.

Now reboot with cd and select the harddrive you installed snow on. Snow will start but sometimes it hangs on start. then just hit the reset button. Later we'll fix that.

now that snow is booted download http://chameleon.osx86.hu/static/some-word...r640-bin.tar.gz
and install it without any extra's.

then update it to RC3 http://chameleon.osx86.hu/articles/chamele...ge-disk-support

and just replace boot at the root of your drive with the one from the tarbal archive

create an Extra folder at the root of your snow drive and add these kexts to that folder

netkas last fakesmc: http://netkas.org/?cat=15
and add from http://stellarola.tumblr.com/post/165429070/prepare-yourself
- IOACHIBlockStorageInjector
- PlatformUUID
- NullCPUPowerManagement

download http://www.mediafire.com/?mmmmmwzrmn3

unpack and copy paste these files into /System/Library/Extensions

now the hang at boot issue http://netkas.org/?p=178 he talks here about acer laptops but our dx58so has the same issue.
here is an allready patched version: http://www.mediafire.com/?mzfgozjzdzm

unpack and copy paste it too into /System/Library/Extensions

download, and run kext utility, see http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=140647
(which will set permissions and make mkext)

set your graphics cards efi string to enable hardware accelerated graphics.
a subset of graphics cards will need a seperate injector of some sort. check osx86.es, google and insanelymac to find a fitting driver.
reboot without cd! lan, sound and sleep, and graphics should work now.
a minor issue is sound doesn't work after sleep:
solution is here: http://thireus.dareyourmind.net/index.php/...akes-from-sleep

amy suggestions for a more stable and or better system

Can I use a snow leopard restore disc?

No restore disks are machine specific only good for installing on the Mac they came with.

Hi bernfeld. Can you please explain (elaborate) on how to install RC2 and update to RC3 as well as replacing the boot at root with the tarbal archive. I'm desperately trying to build a hackintosh using a DX58SO motherboard. Actually I know very little about Macs, so any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
