Ok to start with i have never worked with .kext files before. In addition i don't know what i need to get in order to make the computer read my audio card. 0x1458A002 is the version of the audio i have. I think its an intel or a realtek brand. If anyone could help that would be greatly appreciated. As well as to how to install it. laugh.gif talk about feeling like a newbe.

google your csound chipset then just add "mac drivers" to the end of it, you might eventually find some drivers

to install you can either get the app "kexthelper" (google that too if you don't have it already)
or go to "your mac" > system > library > extensions and paste it there

then to be safe, go to the disk utility, repair permissions and restart, hope that helps, if anything goes wrong after doing that, just undo the change
