With my Dell 1525 (ICH8M) I encounter that native IOATAFamily v2.5.0 with AppleIntelPIIXATA causes kernel panic. The previous solution is to use Leopard kext. But it is only 32 bit.
I tried to recompiled Apple's sources - the same panic.
Then I got Leopard sources and correct its to Snow. Yes, I got 32/64bit drivers that works fine and faster then Apple's one

It seems DSDT patching resolve the issue with native IOATAFamily
http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?...&#entry3545
so my patch is no more needed.
