that sounds fantastic! hope it doesnt take too much of your time but i guess doing it will make me a tester.

ok im currently running iatkos v7 with the settings suggested all over the internet and everything runs great apart from pcie cards (wifi/ethernet) etc...

heres the txt logs of running both in both. unfortunately i had to reboot to ubuntu to get the lspci from there so stopped my xcode download, really hoping this works now!

thanks in advance, biggrin.gif

edit: for some reason my attachments arent showing, heres pastebin links: (hope thats ok mods)

osx 1.5.7 iatkos v7: http://pastebin.com/5wrzxYgm

linux ubuntu (10.04 i think) : http://pastebin.com/cRkD7zMj

edit2: ok sorry, the attachments show now, leaving pastebin for additional options

I checked your files and it seems that your computer has the same bridges as mine. This shouldn't need big changes to the code. Only question remaining is if there'll be problems due to the kext being compiled for Snow Leopard. But we won't know until you test it, eh? I'll post it as soon as I have it compiled!

Ok, here you go. Put to S/L/E and do the usual changes.

This shouldn't hang, but if it does, give it some tries.

im currently typing this on osx with airport and ethernet working perfectly, snow leo iatkos s 3, 1.6.3 using your kext.

small issues so far= crashed on leo, (was expected)

only working so far in 32bit mode, 64bit crashes with iopcifamilykext not found

also safe mode because nvenabler failed to start graphics without safe mode, will try modding settings later but for now this kext works.

this man is a genius and deserves the prize!

edit:forgot to mention, airport working because replaced intel card with broadcom a year ago hoping it'd fix osx.

edit2: rebooted into 32bit without safe mode and has booted no problems? maybe needed initial safe boot? not sure. will test further and relay info.

thank you

You are welcom! I'm really happy to know those are working smile.gif The crash about the iopcifamily not being found might have something to do with not booting with the -f which would reload all the kexts and renew the cache.

Easy. I don't want to waste your time, but thanks wink.gif

The problem is my ethernet controller: Atheros Communications AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 (ATL1E) that I didn't get it to work even with the AttansicL1eEthernet.kext

I have an Apple MacBook Wireless Card 802.11n BCM4321 BCM94321MC on the way to change the Intel Corporation WiFi Link 5100 AGN.

Do you think it will work?

Put the cart in another SLOT , that will be eliminate the The Touch button (ON /OF)
Second method is to try PIN 20 tape.

But the first is 100% sure ! BUT NEED TO BE BROADCOM OR ATHEROS WIRELESS CARD ! INTEL NOT WORK (ONLY IN 32 BI I HAVE SUCCESS BUT WITH NETWORK SELECTOR GUI 2, BUT NOT WORK CORRECTLY )
cool.gif

Now I'm with that NVenable 64 but have not Success ! ONLY VGA OUT
When I put HDMI Cable , the screen going to flash white blue , until I unplug the cable.

If any ONE can help me ..... will have a beer - ONLINE biggrin.gif

I've used VoodooHDA 2.7.2 (http://code.google.com/p/voodoohda/) and it works perfect. It recognizes all outputs and inputs except the blue line-in.
CUrro
What kexts have you used in your 6930G? Specifically in the folder Extra/Extensions? blink.gif

I might be wrong but could we basically use the same principle to enable the smbus controller. If I'm right then we could have native speedstep as well as maybe getting sleep to work on our 6930G's.

Not yet as far as I know. But I'm thinking maybe we could use a route similar to the iopcifamily fix.Everytime I hear of someone having smbus working on their hacks they also have working sleep. I could be wrong.

My friend your LSPCI is OK. IOPCIFamily that I made for u should be working!
I'm not sure but , did u edit info.plist whit your ID of BCM 4321 ?
If u want open IOREG and U will see that your PCI bridge are get correct addressing.
I thing that u need just to ADD YOUR ID in /system/librarty/extensions/IO80211Family.kext/contents/plugins/AppleAirportBCM4311.kext/contents/info.plist or just install Broadcom43XXFamily.kext

DID U MADE IT?

Yes, I've done all that but still not working. unsure.gif

Maybe it's stupid what I say but I have changed the new wifi card to another PCI slot because in the previous did not recognize it.

I compared my two files and there is a difference in the "Bus: primary=00, secondary=XX, subordinate=XX" between the old and new.

In the first:

Bus: primary=00, secondary=07, subordinate=07, sec-latency=0

And the new:

Bus: primary=00, secondary=05, subordinate=05, sec-latency=0

The I/O behind bridge, Memory behind bridge and Prefetchable memory behind bridge seem to be the same in both. In my MacOS-generated lspci bridges not detected correctly.

My first lspci with Intel wifi 5100 AGN: http://www.2shared.com/document/a7Z-7xS-/L..._5100_AGN_.html

Hi All,

I used the compiled version for CUrros and it worked like a charm with a BCM 4312 (pin 20 trick).

Currently working in both SL 10.6.8 and Lion 10.7 (Appstore).

@ Bronza, Thanks for your efforts. smile.gif

Most of all, thank you DarkUttek - you are a hero! You deserve the prize rolleyes.gif

I'm sure some like Slice could automate this process and make the kext universal.

Best regards

EDIT: Now With $75 AAPL Gift Card Bounty!

Hello everyone, I have an Acer Aspire 6930g notebook, and everything is great except for one (major) problem, the PCI/MiniPCIe cards don't get assigned interrupts (or in LAN's case, interrupts and io registers). I've tried to use modified IOPCIFamily kexts (AnV, Slice, chunnan) with little success, they all cause crashes before hitting the desktop in both SL and 10.5.7 (except Slice's SL IOPCIFamily, which doesn't cause a panic, but has no affect on my system). However, chunnan's kext did bring up wl0 for a glorious moment before locking the system up (verbose boot). I'm wondering if it's possible to hard-code the addresses/interrupts in the DSDT, but I'm not much of a programmer. I'm willing to help debug this in any way possible, and have tried:

IOPCIFamily/AMW0/HPETDevice kexts in many different combinations, both with and without DSDT, and with/without Nullcpupowermanagement
Changing DSDT to use Linux's Values (_OSI)
Changing DSDT to use XP/Vista's Values
IOPCMCIAFamily + IOPCIFamily Kexts

I've also tried with and without netkas' fix for acer laptops (involves modifying the USB kext), but it doesn't seem to help.

Attached are a clean copy of my DSDT from linux, and lspci -vv dumps from linux and osx.

I've been trying to figure this out for 3 months now, and lots of people seem to have the same issue with this model, even in freebsd...

12/12/09: To date, I have successfully booted SL with Chunnan's kext once out of around 300 boots (trying desperately to get back to desktop with it so I can dump the proper ioreg).... It is just as stable/reliable in Leo 10.5.6/10.5.7 sad.gif

Relevant System Specs:
Intel PM45 Chipset (ICH9) with Core2Duo CPU
Nvidia GeForce 9600gs with 512mb ram (on PCI bus of some sort, but has seperate entry in dsdt, where all other pci cards are listed as RP01-0x under PCI0@0 in the DSDT)

I've tried to download a copy of IOPCIFamly.kext for my acer 6930g using the 2share links in these threads but I get a file which is only 170 bytes long and is not a kext (unless I'm being really dim which is always a possibility). Could someone upload a 32bit/64bit version of this kext as I'd like to get my Atheros ethernet working if possible?

Many thanks in advance..
