Well I have successfully installed SL on my DX58SO motherboard. Running into an audio problem that I cannot find a solution for. In sounds system preference I choose SPDIF-out (Black Rear). I go into iTunes and start playing a song. The optical port starts working and I can see the light beaming through the cable. The only problem is when it is hooked into my receiver there is no audio at all. Now I have checked the optical port with my MacBook and it works like a charm. I am currently using voodoohda-0.2.52. Note that when I use the headphone jack I have audio.

Has anyone run into this issue?

Okay I replaced the info.plist and I still can't get audio through the cable. Light still turns on. I was looking through the plist and didn't notice anything for SPDIF out. Only SPDIF In Internal. I am not good with kext and plist but it seems there is something missing? Am i correct or is there something else I am missing? Thanks slice for that post!

EDIT:

Saw this post by you

There are no any
CODE
<key>Description</key>
in the driver!!!

Does that mean I should remove all <key> description </key> from the plist?

@zombie4000:

Set your SPDIF output to 16 bits 48Khz in audio midi configuration utility. It should do the trick. For some reason VoodooHDA sets SPDIF output to 32 bits 192Khz by default on my codec. SPDIF only supports up to 20 bits standard bit depth, and optionally 24 bits, and a max 96Khz sample frequency.

@Slice:

Sorry about the description key confusion, I'd only added this to my plist as a comment viewable from IORegistryExplorer and plist editor. And of course the driver don't use it since it's just a comment.

Thank you for the trick about SPDIF.
About Description I think we can include it in driver in future. And now it is better to use <!-- ... -->
